My Favorite Artist: Jeff Soto

There are many artists in today's world, but there is one that interests me the most--that artist is Jeff Soto. He creates alternate realities with a wide arrangement of colors and robot-like creatures. He plays around with his artwork, while at the same time, having a "easy to the eye" feel.  I like his work because he is able to combine many colors together with just a right amount of each (and with great detail) to create a unique piece while still having a fun feel to it. Soto's states that his work is inspired by his childhood with themes of love, lust, and hope. He is trying to show the environmental issues of humans trying to take advantage of nature. Soto sends his message through his paintings; what ways could others profess his/her message to the world?

An Art Student's New Year Resolution

For my New Year's resolution I would like to actually improve my painting ability. Like how I said in 2010 that I would improve, but I did not practice. So, for this year, my resolution is to improve my artistic ability in painting and other medias as well.

Concentration #4 so far

This is concentration #4 so far. It has to do with Greg Simkins. Still a little left to do but unsure what to put. This piece seems a bit too "busy".
